Fellow balletomanes, you will want to watch this documentary “Dancing Across Borders”, featuring the life transition of Cambodian dancer – Sokvannara (Sy) Sar.
Anne Bass – producer of the film, was also the significant one who saw Sy’s talent in a Khmer dance and started the long process of transferring him to the School of American Ballet.
It is inspiring seeing how Sy survived his private classes with Olga, and how he picked up the technicalities of ballet at the age of 16. Sy returns back to Cambodia to give thanks to his family, friends, past teachers, and his country. It is all very touching.
